Calangute Building: Are people really staying here?

This looks like a haunted house from a movie set. However, it is not. It is actually a building in the semi urban touristic destination of Calangute. And there are people living in this building.

It must have taken quite a few years for this buidling to have reached this state. However, instead of asking the owners to repair it, the building was left on its own and people allowed to live in it. Now it took the intervention of the local MLA and minister to order the local panchayat to take action and demolish the building.
