We want to go home: Ponda migrants

The migrants living in Ponda say they are in deep trouble. More than 1000 of them want to go home. They argue that the government does not give them food and they don't want to depend on their employers any longer. This is becoming a serious problems for migrants who form the backbone of industrial labour force in the state.



Migrants staying in Goa for last 30 years want to leave Goa as they cannot fill their stomach.


Employers and contractor have taken care of the their migrant workers during lockdown to a large extent, they improve.


Now the employers are facing a big problem, and they say government has not really stepped up.


Local panch Rajesh Naik explained the relation of migrants with the Goan economy.
