The Goa University Student's Council elections witnessed a saffron clash. On Friday the elections to the GU student council executive committee were postponed after clashes between the ABVP and the BJP youth wing. Surprisingly, there is an allegation by the BJP youth wing is that the ABVP, which is the student wing of the BJP and the NSUI, which is the students wing of the Congress were in cahoots.

Friday was the day for elections. But confusions started after a candidate from MES college Vasco filed an appeal to re-consider his disqualified nomination. His appeal was accepted and notification was issued to postpone elections. This sparked tension and students cornered Goa University Vice-Chancellor Varun Sahani. Vice-chancellor gave an assurance that elections be conducted on 26th of this month. Goa University's Director of Student Welfare Dattesh Parulekar also explained why elections were postponed. Internal differences have been cropped up among the BJP.

The BJP's student wing and BJP's youth wing have clashed against each other during student's council elections. ABVP alleged that the elections were postponed due to political tactics used by BJYM. While, BJYM alleged that ABVP is in alliance with Congress youth wing- NSUI.
