Elect. Dept responsible for Borim accident, pay 50 lakh rupees compensation: Aituc

All India Trade Union Congress has blamed the Electricity Department for negligence for the deaths of three employees. AITUC has demanded 50 lakh rupees compensation to the dead and 20 lakh rupees to those permanently injured. The trade union has also demanded that a committee be formed to study the safety aspect of the employees.
An electricity department vehicle carrying electricity poles met with an accident on the 6th of this month at Borim Circle killing 3 on the spot.
Three more were critically injured. Aituc's Raju Mangeshkar said the department should make arrangement to transport employees in a separate vehicle.
