The NGO, Rainbow Warriors has alleged that the passing of the Goa Town and Country Planning (Amendmen) Act 2018 has been misused by the Government.

The NGO says several tracts of land have been converted from orchard to settlement without these projects being discussed at gram sabhas.

Rainbow Warrior has alleged that 55,000 square metres of land in Sao Jose de Areal has been converted from orchard to settlement.

The NGO said the Seraulim dam was built to help farmers to do cultivation but now the government is converting orchard land instead of helping to cultivate it.

Rainbow Warriors says a project consisting of 55,000 square metres in Sarzora village has been dropped after the locals opposed it.
