Kadamba begins 45-day trial run of electric bus

Goa takes lead in running environment- friendly buses.



The 45-day trial run of  100 per cent electric bus of Kadamba Transport Corporation limited began on Thursday from Vasco .

Each bus costs around 2.5 crore rupees. Kadamba hopes to get a subsidy of one crore rupees per bus from the central government. 

The bus was flagged off by Vasco MLA and KTCL chairman Carlos Almeida.

The bus runs 300 kilometres on one charge.

It takes around five hours to charge the batteries fully.

Earlier, trial runs for buses powered by biogas and ethanol had been conducted.
