Displaced Dhangar families from Mopa to be rehabilitated at Kasarvane

14 families of Dhangar community at Mopa airport site have been allotted a new place at Kasarvane village.



Each of the 14  families will get 800 square meter plot. 

The airport contractor GMR will build houses for them. Bhoomi pujan for the site was done on Tuesday.

The displaced persons are yet to get anything in writing.

Earlier, these displace Dhangar families had been allotted 100 square meters. But now these families have been given 800 square meters each.

Present at the bhumi poojan were Tourism Minister and Pernem MLA Babu Azgaokar, Chief Executive Officer of GMR Milind Paikdarkar and representatives of the 14 Dhangar families.

one of the displaced Dhangar community members expressed unhappiness with the place allotted to them.

He also said that they have been promised jobs but does not know what sort of jobs.
