CM blames NGOs for blocking basic facilities on the beaches

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has accused NGOs for creating hurdles in developmental works. Government needs NOC from CRZ to build toilets and information centers on beaches. But NGOs create obstructions.

Tourism Minister Babu Azgaonkar also said Centre will take back its money given for Swadesh Darshan Scheme if not utilised within three years.

Nuvem MLA Wilfred D'Sa said toilets, information centre and cameras are planned at Utorda beach.

However, nothing is happening as Tourism Department is waiting for NOC from CRZ Authority.

Babu also told the MLA to take responsibility of getting these NOCs.

Babu also said at present, State government has got 200 crore rupees from Centre under Swadesh Darshan Scheme for North and South Goa. Opposition leader asked what is the time limit to utilise this money.
