Cables laid in gutter main reason behind Panaji flooding: Mayor

The way electricity cables have been laid haphazardly inside Panaji gutters are being exposed. Panaji Mayor Uday Madkaikar all these haphazard laid cables are the main reason behind flooding in Panaji as they choke up gutters.

Uday said that the ignorance by CCP's engineer could be reason for this. 

Corporation City of Panaji has undertaken disilting of gutters in city.

This time CCP has not floated tender for the work instead has deployed its own workers to do the job from 1^st January.

Take a look at gutters near Hindu pharmacy. The cables are seen in the gutters.

When asked about this, CCP Mayor said that agencies have been henceforth told not to lay cables in sewers and that the CCP is trying to bring a solution to this.
