All infrastructure works will be ready by 19 Dec

The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that all the infrastructure works in State will be ready before 19 December a few months before the slated assembly election. The Chief Minister was in Vasco to inspect the Varunapuri to Sada NH 17B flyover construction work.

 The Varunapuri Sada flyover project was undertaken at the cost of 500 crore rupees and its intial construction began in October 2015. The project is jointly funded by PWD, NHAI and MPT. Gammon India is the contractor.

The work of the bridge was stopped by the contractor alleging that he was not paid. On Thursday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant met the officials concerned to discuss the issues faced during the construction and reviewed the project. Mormugao MLA Milind Naik was also present during the inspection.

 Chief Minister also spoke on the brutal assault on RTI Activist Narayana Naik at Sancaole. He said cases has been handed over to crime branch and culprits will be soon put behind the bars.
