Vijai to implement ‘profitable’ tender coconut policy

Tender coconuts are more profitable than coconuts.

Goa government is thus planning to introduce tender coconut policy and increase production of tender coconuts by importing hybrid seeds of Kerala.

This is what agriculture minister Vijai Sardesai has announced.

Vijay was speaking at a one day state level seminar on coconut in Madgao.

In order to implement tender coconut policy in Goa, he said the government has urged the coconut development board of Kochi to give Goa 10000 hybrid seed nuts from the next financial year.

Vijay sounded concerned about falling production of coconuts in Goa.

This is one step to revive coconut production. Incidentally, the election symbol of his Goa Forward Party is coconut.
