Police verification on line for passports: Sawaikar

Police verification for passports will now be done online and the issue of seamen should have minimum SSC certificate for jobs will be waived within the next ten days or so.



These were the announcements made by South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar after the inaugural of the  passport office in Margao.

Sawaikar also hit out at the Congress saying that it never thought of opening a passport office in South Goa but is now demanding a full-fledged regional passport office in Madgao.

He also assured that a new passport officer will be appointed for the Panaji passport office.  The new passport office will boast off postal service.

MP Sawaikar inaugurated the  passport office in the presence of TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai and Mumbai Passport Officer TD Sharma.

TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai said that as of now job seekers have to go to Mumbai for emigration clearance check.

He requested the MP this should be done in Goa itself to save them the hassle.
