Madkaikar operated after brain stroke, 5th MLA suffering with serious ailment

He was operated early Tuesday morning at Kokilaben Hospital.
He has been kept under observation for 72 hours, only after which his condition would be known.
He is the fifth MLA of the current Assembly who has suffered with a major ailment.
54-year old Madkaikar had left for Mumbai on Monday evening after dealing with the protests over power failure in Panaji and around for over 20 hours from Sunday till Monday.
He was rushed to the Kokilaben hospital post-midnight as he started feeling uneasy.
Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane said he was operated for a massive brain stroke.
Right now he is stable but would be monitored for the next 72 hours.
Madkaikar is the fifth MLA to be hospitalized from the current Assembly.
In the last Assembly, then BJP minister Matanhy Saldanha died of a heart attack during Shigmo festival, right at the beginning of his Assembly tenure.
And another BJP MLA Vishnu Wagh suffered a stroke almost at the fag end of the the 2012 Assembly.
He is still bed ridden.

The 2017 Assembly, in last one year, witnessed series of such incidents, beginning with BJP minister Francisco D’Souza, who was suffering with kidney ailment.
He is now back in action but still undergoing treatment.
Then it was Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is presently being treated in the USA for his pancreatic ailment of serious nature.
Following this was another BJP MLA Carlos Almeida, who had a paralytic stroke. He is slowly recovering.
Then last month was Congress MLA Isidore Fernandes, who is suffering with kidney and liver related ailment.
And now it’s Pandurang Madkaikar, who is lying in Mumbai with a brain stroke.
