CM holds review meet after SC suspends environment clearance to Mopa airport

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant held meeting to discuss impact on Mopa Greenfield airport after Supreme Court order suspended Environmental Clearance granted by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.

Supreme Court has remanded the matter to the Expert Appraisal Committee.

The review meeting was attended by Shri. Govind Jaiswal, IAS, Secretary-Environment, Dr. Suresh Shanbhogue, Director Civil Aviation, Shri. R. V. Sheshan, CEO, GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) and other senior officers of GGIAL.

Dr Shanbhogue informed the CM that temporary suspension of EC may delay the project timeline especially looking at the monsoon.
