Rajtilak Naik crowned as new president of GUJ

Rajtilak Naik was elected as the new president of Goa Union of Journalist on Saturday.



He is the Chief Photographer of the Goan edition of the Times of India.


Rajtilak defeated his rival Vasant Katkar, Chief Reporter of Pudhari polling 160 votes to 43 votes. 


Voting percentage was 67.43% as 205 members out of 305 cast their votes. 2 votes were declared invalid.


The new 10 member executive committee too was elected as per norms.


They are as follows: Vasudev Pagui, Sagun Gawade, Glenn Costa, Kenzil Rodrigues, Kailas Naik, Audumbur Shinde, Pramod Thakur, Tulshidas Raul, and Suraj Nandrekar.


There was tie between Suraj Nadrekar and Narayan Pissurlenkar for the 10 th position as both scored 93 votes. The position was decided on lots.
