Coast guard rescues armyman off Cabo de Rama

A army officer visiting Goa as a tourist had a proverbial escape when he had gone swimming at Cabo de Rama.



He was rescued in the nick of time by the Coast Guard around 2 nautical miles north of the Cabo de Rama beach.


The 20 plus survivor, an officer in an engineering unit of the army based at Ambala was swept away by the rough waves.

The Coast guard was notified and a helicopter diverted from a routine patrol and managed to locate the army man.


The rescue team winched down and rescued the army man. The survivor is stable.
