Can the prospective candidates of Lok Sabha and by-election organise functions after polling but before results, without including it in the election expenditure?

Because code of conduct has already come into force and it will end only on 27th May after counting votes on 23rd May.

And prospective independent candidate of Mandrem Jeet Arolkar has organised a 21-day long summer camp of sports events, beginning from 30th April, seven days after the voting.

Jeet Arolkar plans to contest Mandrem by-election as an independent. And he has organised this 21-day long camp for students and adults from 30th April to 21st May.

It includes training around 200 school students by 50 coaches in judo, karate, volleyball, beach volleyball, football, cricket and even swimming and cycling.

Also a Yoga camp for the adults.

The summer camp is being organised in the name of his organisation called Udargat.

But it’s not for the whole taluka of Pedne, but only for the Mandrem constituency which Jeet Arolkar plans to contest from.

But according to Jeet, the code of conduct would not apply to this almost a month-long camp, because it is starting after polling.

But Election Commission has said that the code of conduct has come into force from Sunday when the Lok Sabha and Assembly bye-elections are announced.

And it will remain in force upto 27th of May, four days after counting of votes on 23rd of May.

Jeet’s camp is from 30th April to 21st of May.
