Campaigns for municipal elections are in full swing

The campaigns for municipal elections are in full swing. After the Supreme Court order on reservations the government has said that reservations in some of the municipalities will be redone. And the SEC has resigned. But the campaigning is on. Also the Navelim ZP has become a major prestige seat for all the parties especially given the internal politicking.

Supreme Court had said that Goa Election Commission will have to issue notification for the municipal  polls within 10 days and will have to complete the election process by April 30. The apex court pulled up State Election Commission. On Sunday, government announced to appoint Narayan Navati has State Election Commissioner.

The BJP has started door-to-door campaign in Margao municipality for its candidate Sachin Satardekar.

 In Panaji, local MLA Babush Monserratte was seen campaigning for his son Rohit Monserratte in Panaji corporation elections.
