No relief for 180 jobseekers cheated of Rs 1 cr

Thousands have been duped and thousands continue to be duped.

Now, in the most recent case, around 180 people have been cheated by a recruitment agent to the tune of nearly one crore rupees.

Bogus agent Arthur Kennedy Lourenco was jailed in this case but managed to get bail and is now absconding.

He had promised to refund the victims money on the 5^th of August.

But when they went to Margao police station to get their money the agent was nowhere to be seen.

Police have since advised the victims to approach a court of law.

But victims complain that case drag on for years and more money has to be spent to fight these cases.
