Massive changes at Dabolim airport will see rise of 2m passengers

Director Goa International Airport at Dabolim BCH Negi has said the airport will see rise of 2 million passengers per annum after the expansion and improvements by March 2019.



Stakeholders also want the aviation turbine fule to be reduced by 5% at least.

 

The improvements include realignment of immigration counters, change of signages, e- visa counters and extension terminal building.


The airport currently handles 7.65 million passengers per annum at the moment. Airport Director Negi was speaking to reporters after the airport advisory committee meeting on Tuesday.


The meeting was also attended by South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, Panchayat Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho and other officials.  


The meeting also discussed issues such as parking, installation of new machinery, new entry gates to streamline passengers.

Negi also said most of the state government has brought down the aviation turbine fuel to below 5 % and some don’t charge it at all.
