HSSC results: Girls outshine boys by 35 %

The passing percentage of Higher Secondary students this is year is 89.59 and this time too girls outshone boys by a margin of 35.06 per cent.



Out of 16,962 appearing for the exams 15,187 passed.


This year saw an improvement of 4.06 percent in terms of results.


In 2018 ,17,739 had appeared out of which 15,172 had passed, a pass percentage of 85.53 %.Out of 8,967 girls appearing for exams, 8,247 passed a pass percentage of 91.97. Out of 7,985 boys appearing for exams 6,914 passed, a pass percentage of 56.91%. Following schools obtained 100 percent results: St Theresa's H S, Candolim, Shree Kamleshwar Shikshan Prassarak Saunsthan, Korgao, Vishwanath Mahadev Parulekar Higher Secondary, Verem, Mushtifund Aryan HS, Panaji, Lokvishwas Pratishthan, Ponda, Sanjay Higher Secondary for Slow Learners & Hearing impaired, Porvorim.


Stream wise break down:

Commerce

5,173 appeared, 4,752 passed,

Passing percentage of 91.86 percent.


Arts:

-4,117 students appeared, 3,612 passed

-Passing percentage of 87.73


Science:

4,819 appeared, 4,422 passed

Passing percentage of 91.76.


Vocational: 2,843 appeared, 2,401 passed

Passing percentage 84.45 The Mapusa center had the highest passing percentage of 95.35 % while Sakhli had the lowest passing percentage of 78.34%.
