GSPCB issues conditional consent to 27 mining leases, suspends consent of JSW

The Goa State Pollution control on Monday suspended the JSW coal handling consent to operate as they have brought in larger amounts then they were permitted to.



MPT was also directed to stop coal handling at the Dolphin terminal. In another decision the board also gave consent to 27 mining leases on a conditional basis.

The daylong meeting deliberated on the complaints of excess handling of Coal by JSW.

The company has been given 15 days to remove all the excess coal from the berth.

A board representative will be stationed at the site to ensure that the same is done.

The board is also waiting for a report by IIT Mumbai on the coal issue.

The board also deliberated on the consent to operate to 27 mines before coming to their decision.

Chairperson of the pollution control board Ganesh Shetgaokar spoke Goa 365 after the meeting giving details.
