Goans worried over proposed closure Fair Price Shops

The statement of Civil Supplies Minister Govind Gaude over the central government’s proposal of Shutting down the fair price shops in the state has not gone well with many Goans.



The owners of these rations shops and many others in general say this decision may have adverse effects on the general underprivileged ones.

Around one and a half lakh people from 37 thousand households from Ponda will be affected if the fair price shops are closed down. People from Ponda are thus scared with the proposal. 

The ration shop owners from Vasco also are worried. They say it is not only affecting the poor families but even the shop owners and their employees will also be directly affected by the decision.
