Goa Dairy hunger strike to continue; farmers reject offer

The indefinite strike by Goa Dairy Farmers will continue after farmers refused the management offer that their demands will be complied with within a month.



Earlier tension prevailed at Goa Dairy premises on Thursday as the indefinite strike by farmers continued after management wanted them out of the premises.

 

The management sought police protection and Ponda Police Inspector Harish Marcaikar and Ponda Mamlatdar Abeer Hede rushed to the Goa Dairy premises to pacify the farmers. 


As police reached the premises, the agitating farmers took exception to police deployment.


It started after farmers brought bamboos to erect a pandal at the agitation site, the rickshaw carrying bamboos was stopped at gate.
