The Industries Minsiter Vishwajit Rane backed the plan to clear the SEZ lands by paying interest to the earlier prompters. He said he was clear that in case anybody was interested approaching the courts on the issue they were free to do so. The minister also promised action on any irregularities in allotment of plots in the IDC. He was speaking during the cut motion on demands on Wednesday.
Vishwajit was of the opinion that the SEZ issue was closed including the payment of interest of promoters. This cause of action resulted after the government scrapped the allotment of SEZ land after public protests.
The topic was brought up by leader of opposition Digambar Kamat. The minister assured the house that he would take action on plots being given to IDC employees and any other irregularities. He said that he would go for digitalisation to ensure transparency.
