Vasco hit by double whammy: first covid and now dengue

Vasco is being hit by Dengue even as it is still grappling with the coronavirus pandemic. Vasco and sub-urbans are reporting 20 odd cases and beds at the Chicalim Sub-District hospital are full due to dengue cases, hospital doctors admitted.

Every year Dengue hits VAsco. This time situation is even worse serious. NCP state President and Former Minister Jose Philip D’ Souza visited the Chicalim Sub District Hospital to check out about the dengue situation. He said tha tdengue cases are rising steadily even as people are already suffering from covid. Due to no beds in the hospitals, people are being shifted to GMC. A women from Dabolim had even died from dengue, D’Souza alleged.

 

Chicalim health center’s health officer Dr Anil Umbraskar admitted that the cases are not decreasing in Vasco. As beds are full in Chicalm they are shifted in GMC, he said. However no deaths have been confirmed due to dengue, he said.
