Covid 3rd wave to hit below 18 as 90% eligible persons vaccinated: Dr. Salkar

90% of the eligible population in Goa has been administered the first dose covid-19 doses, BJP’s medical cell’s chief Dr Shekhar Salkar said on Friday.



 He said that this could means that those below 18 could possibly be hit by the expected third wave.

This is in the background of rising  corona cases in India for the third day in a row.


Dr Salkar gave details of the vaccinations administered to the people as the state get ready for a possible 3rd wave. India reported 44,643 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

This is the third straight day when the country saw more than 40,000 new cases being registered and the daily cases on Friday has been risen over 2,000 compared to yesterdays figure.

BJP is starting a Campaign to tackle third wave, Dr Salkar said. In order to tackle this, the government has set up pediatric centres in government and private hospital and 60 pediatrics doctors have been trained to treat covid.
