State readies for Liberation day celebration, President's visit

State is all set to celebrate 60th Liberation day of Goa on 19th December with fanfare and fervor. State administration is all set to welcome President Ram Nath Kovind who will be the Chief Guest for Liberation day function and who will launch the year long celebrations.



The Panaji has been decorated to celebrate 60th Liberation day. Preparations at Azad Maidan Martyr Memorial and Dayanand Bandodkar ground is going on in a full swing. A mock drill of traffic police was conducted at main points in Panaji. Parade ground is also fully ready.

President Ram Nath Kovind will land in Goa on Saturday afternoon. First he will pay homage to martyrs at Azad Maidan and then he will go to Dayanand Bandodkar ground where he will launch year long celebrations of 60th Goa Liberation Day.  

On 19th December people have to take long detour to reach their destination. Collector North has ordered diversion of traffic from December 19 to December 20, 2020 during the visit of the President of India. The diversion and closure of road will be effective from 3.00 p.m. from December 19, 2020 till the conclusion of the scheduled function.
