Sudin to ‘table’ budget on Thu, adjourn session to meet during monsoon

It’s official. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will not present the budget.

Instead, PWD Minister Sudin Dhawalikar will only table it and get it passed.  This would happen on Thursday.

And the Assembly session would then be adjourned. There will also not be any discussion on this budget after it is tabled.

That is for a later still undecided date. A vote on account for 5 months will also be tabled.

And for these four days, Sudin would function as the leader of the House.

The first day of the Assembly session on Monday was more eventful outside the House than in the House, in the background of CM Parrikar being hospitalised in Mumbai.

It started with a legislature party meeting of the BJP before the House assembled.

The meeting was also attended by BJP’s Goa president Vinay Tendulkar as well as union minister Shripad Naik.

The Governor’s address was wound up in 15 minutes. And soon after met the Business Advisory Committee.

It comprises of leaders of the ruling as well as opposition parties.

They unanimously decided to curtail the present session, table the budget and discuss it at the later stage.
