100 MW more electricity to Goa, Cabinet approves solar policy plan

The much-awaited Goa state Solar Power Policy will soon see the light. It was approved by the cabinet on Wednesday.
Goa will also get additional 100-megawatt power from the central power grid.
CM Parrikar mentioned some of the salient features of this policy.
Solar Power generation would be divided into 3 categories. Prosumers in two categories: one, with power generation capacity of below 100 kW and other of prosumers with power generation capacity above 100 kW.
Also, producers will get to sell the generated power to grid at GERC rates.
Even Government offices will be able to generate power for their own consumption under this policy.
