File FIRs against guilty, begin recoveries: Goa Foundation

Ore transportation and export by private parties is illegal. The government is the owner of the ore so it can and should sell it.



Goa Foundation while addressing the media also emphasized that outstanding dues from mining lease holders be recovered and FIRs be filed against guilty parties including the Chief Minister. 

Goa Foundation’s Dr. Claude Alvares told reporters on Thursday that March 15 is the date given by the Supreme Court to close their affairs at the mining leases and not to continue extraction till then.

He said that he would approach the SIT to file an FIR against the chief minister Manohar Parrikar, and officials Pawan Sen and Prassana Acharya now that the as well as immediately move to recover dues from mining lease holders.

He said that in case they did not do that they would approach the appropriate courts. 

Claude said that transportation of ore was only legal in case it was carried out at the behest of the government and not for private parties.
