Tensed Ugvem: Villagers threaten blockade, police gets an ultimatum

Ugvem villagers have put the local law and order situation on pedestal after a local was assaulted by the sand extractors. Angry villagers went on a rampage, blocking the national highway. Over 100s of vehicles came to a standstill.

 Over hundreds of vehicles came to a standstill on Friday night when angry villagers took to the streets protesting against the sand mafia. The tension aggravated after a local Dasharath Mahale was attacked by the sand extractors.

 That wasn’t the end, the tension compounded after police summoned injured Dasharath Mahale to the station. The villagers accused the police of indifferent towards the victim.

 The police however did try to quell the tension assuring the villagers of necessary action also ensuring that mine department to look into the matter.
