Horticulture Corp is cheating, allege Goan farmers

Goa Horticulture Corporation is buying vegetables and items like flowers at a cheaper rate from Belgaum, alleged local farmers in a memorandum submitted to Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardessai on Monday.

They say that they feel cheated and are suffering losses.

Here is more to the story.

Farmers say that the government has started these horticulture stalls to promote local farmers. But this is not happening.

Farmers said that these stall vendors are buying their vegetable at a cheaper rate then from the neighbouring state.

They have appealed to the Agriculture department and the government to intervene in this matter and insure that farmers do not go into loss.
