Saturday was a day of strong rumours of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s health deteriorating.

But finally, Chief Minister’s Office not only clarified that he is fine but also he would attend the Assembly session beginning from Monday.

He will also present the budget on Thursday.

There was no limit for the rumours that were making rounds on social media, floated by one social activist and even a news group.

One message said that Parrikar would undergo surgery on Saturday as uncontrolled cells have grown in his body, and thus his life expectancy is hardly five months.

Later on, the same news group clarified that the news was false and circulated a clarification issued by Parrikar’s personal secretary Rupesh Kamat. The  official clarifications said:

'CM is under monitoring for his inflamed pancreas at Lilavati, Mumbai and has not been advised any surgery. He will be attending the Assembly session which is scheduled to begin from 19th February.'

On the other hand, a post started circulating that union minister Shripad Naik will take over as the new Chief Minister.

Obviously hinting that Parrikar is not in a position to function as the CM anymore.

But sources in the Secretariat revealed to Goa365 that Parrikar has already started coordinating with his officials in the finance department to prepare his budget speech.

He is expected to present the budget on Thursday, 22nd February.
