The state government is planning to provide affordable housing facilities to people who don’t own any house. People living in Goa for three generations are eligible for the Goa Housing Board scheme.

Minister for Town and Country Planning Vijai Sardesai inspected a construction site at Zuarinagar along with Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, deputy sarpanch of Sancoale NandiniDessai and residents of Vidhyanagar.

The inspection came  following complaints from people against a builder who did not provide proper drainage facilities while constructing the residential project.

Vijai directed the Mormugao Planning and Development Authority to cancel the construction licence of the building project, if the builder or the contractor fails to make provision of drains.

Vijai said that the developmental activities in Mormugao taluka have come to a grinding halt because of delay in appointing a chairman
