Funds is not a constraint for panchayats: Mauvin

Funds will not be a constraint for panchayats. The Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho said that under the 14th Finance Commission around 27 crore rupees is lying unutilized with the government .

He said that the panchayats managed to spend only 4.5 crore rupees out of the total amount.

He said that panchayats can receive up to 150 crore rupees for projects. 

 The Minister of Panchayats said that panchayat members should deliberate and find ways to spend funds coming from the central government.

Mauvin was speaking at the state-level Panchayat sammelan for elected representatives.

The sammelan was organized by the Union Ministry of Panchayats at Community Hall, Taleigao on Tuesday.
