Mormugao Municipality to conduct survey of all their premises

Mormugao municipality chief officer Agnelo Fernandes said that municipal staff have been directed to conduct a survey and identity all people who are occupying municipal premises, who are using their premises, and whether this person is the original lessee or the premises have been sublet.

He said that MMC have received information that majority of its premises have been sublet by the original lessee without informing the Municipality due to which the civic body is at a loss.

Meanwhile the amendment in the municipal act that would give rights to the municipalities across Goa to decide on transferring the premises from original lessees to sub lessees is likely to be passed in the upcoming budget.
