Former MMC chief stabbed at Sada

An assistant lineman in the electricity department stabbed former chairperson of Mormugao Municipal Council, 63-year-old Rama Honnavarkar on Saturday morning.
He is in critical condition and undergoing treatment at the GMC Bambolim. Rama is a resident of headland Sada.
The incident reported at about 9.15 in the morning. In a fit of anger, 45 year old Nilesh Honavarkar stabbed Rama Honnavarkar near Sada junction using a kitchen knife.
The victim was immediately shifted to Cottage hospital at Chicalim then shifted to GMC Bambolim.
He condition is critical. The Mormugao police swung into action and arrested the accused who is allegedly a mentally unsound man from headland Sada.
