Clear obstacles, avoid tragedies; Bicholim Municipality instructs vendors

The broad road present in the market for easy access to Fire brigade has now become totally inaccessible because of tarpauline sheets the vendors have tied on top.

The municipality has now taken the cognizance and directed all the vendors to remove these sheets.

The Bicholim market witnessed a fire incident on late Thursday evening.

Fortunately it was a minor fire and didn’t amount to much loses.

But the fire brigade vehicle which reached the market was not able to reach the actual spot since the approach is totally covered with tarpaulins.

This is the scene of this market. Looks like the authorities have turned a blind eye towards these tarpaulins which is likely to hamper the chances of entry of a fire brigade entering in this market yard.

 Local MLA Rajesh Patnekar has also said he will suggest the Bicholim Municipality to take action against the vendors who continue using this tarpaulin covers. 

Local shopkeepers are also of similar opinion.
