Incessant rains create havoc all over the state

It’s not even a week since the monsoons have hit Goa; the heavy rains have started creating havoc all over the state.



There has been series of collapses and landslides in last 24 to 48 hours due incessant rains.

A coconut tree collapsed on an old house belonging Chari family in Vhadle Bhat Taleigao on Sunday evening.

Their old mother and two small children were injured after the portion of house collapsed on them.

Fortunately a big tragedy was averted since the incident occurred at late night and not in the day time since this old premises also houses an anganwadi.

In another such incident, a balcony of old GMC quarters collapsed at late midnight on Monday. This is a 30 year old building which lacks maintenance. 

Similarly, in another incident, 2 large heavy boulders fell down after landslide at Vaddem.
