Will conduct inquiries in matters related to GTDC properties grabbed ‘illegally’: Babu

Tourism Minister Babu Azgaonkar assured that he will conduct an inquiry if there are any illegalities when contracts were signed by Goa Tourism Development Corporation while leasing out their properties.



He also said that garbage, illegal hawkers and drugs on Goan beaches will not be tolerated.

Minister Babu Azgaonkar also informed the house that the Drishti Lifesaving has employed nearly 83% Goans as lifeguards on 43 beaches and 2 inland water bodies for patrolling duty.

The Tourism Department has spent nearly 90 crores on the lifeguards for a period of 5 years. The Minister also highlighted how the department is trying to control the illegalities on the beaches
