Tourism Dept to allot shacks after 20 Sep: Babu

Babu said the shack owners should be able to open their shacks for business right at the beginning of the tourism season. Hence his department is expediting the work of allotment.

The Tourism Minster said he has sought the cooperation of the home Department to drive away illegal hawkers from the beach belt.

He said the law is in place to arrest illegal hawkers. Babu said efforts are on to provide identity cards to shack workers to eliminate the possibility of illegal hawkers taking refuge in shacks.

Babu sought the cooperation of shack owners and taxi drivers in keeping drug peddlers and drug addicts away and make Goa drugs free.
