Cabinet extends term of Mandovi casinos by 6 months; relocation policy by Dec

The cabinet on Wednesday resolved to complete the framing of the relocation policy by December, the Chief minister Manohar Parrikar said.



And till the time this happens, the casinos will remain where they are as their license tenure has been extended.

The chief minister had told the assembly that he would finalise the policy of shifting of the casinos out of the Mandovi by December.

He told the media that he would fulfill that promise. He said that the meetings to find out alternate places would start by mid October. 

The cabinet also approved the Goa’s State Incentive To Encourage Investment Scheme2017, an umbrella scheme for industry and service.

The chief minister said that this would help entrepreneurs to set up their businesses, especially ecological hinterland tourism related.

The monitoring Committee set up to decide on the IT habitat has also been turned into an empowered committee, the chief mister said informing about another decision. 

 The cabinet also extended the time for giving relief to truck and barge owners on their loans for old proposals.

This would help some 30-40 proposals entailing around 10 crore rupees, the chief minister said. He also said that some veterinary doctors would be taken on contract basis to ease the vacancy position in the animal husbandry department.
