Suspension of 46 footballers temporary, says GFA Prez Elvis

GFA President Elvis Gomes has said that the suspension of 46 footballers is temporary. The executive committee will take final decision after studying their show cause replies. They were suspended for illegally playing for some clubs.

The Goa Football Association hadrecently suspended 46 professional players from all football activities after they were found participating in a local unrecognized tournament in Cuncolim.

Based on photographic evidence, they were issued show cause notices after suspending them. The GFA executive committee is scheduled to meet this week ahead of the annual general body meeting next month.

GFA also held a course for referees to bring in fresh blood in football referring.
