Nehru Stadium ready to host Under-17 World Cup matches

Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda is fully prepared to host matches of Under-17 football World Cup 17 in October. Minor final touches are being given currently.



Chief Engineer of the Sports Authority of Goa G N Chimulkar informed media that the stadium had undergone improvements for AFC under -16 and BRICS summit tournaments.

He said the stadium is currently being given a final facelift from the hygienic and aesthetic point of view. 

He said the practice stadia at Utorda, Benaulim, Vasco and  Bambolim too are ready.


The Under-17 World Cup football tournament will be held in India.  

In the inaugural match,  India play against the USA in New Delhi on 6th of October.
