Goa Women’s league to kick off on 18th Nov

Goa Football Association President Elvis Gomes appealed to the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to intervene into the demand to improve the sports infrastructure



He was speaking at the launch of the Women’s League on Monday.

The first ever Goa Women’s league is all set to kick off in November.This league will see 5 teams participating.

Nearly 30 players were picked by the different teams participating in the Women’s league.

The Chief Minister launched " Vedanta Women's Football League" in the capital city on Monday.

Present at the launch were Vijayadevi Rane, President GFA Elvis Gomes , Chairperson of Committe Juliana Colaco  and Arjuna  Awardee Brahmanand Sankhwalkar.

Players of Goa women’s team 1977 were also felicitated on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Chief Minister said that he will give his full support to promote football in the state.

Goa’s famous Doctor cum Singer Varun Carvalho also launched the official Anthem of the Women’s League.
