Goa police are worried. On one hand, the number of road accidents and deaths is increasing alarmingly.

Most of them are teenagers and youngsters. But on the other hand, many schools are not responding to the road safety programmes taken up by the police department for the students.

Director General of Police Muktesh Chandar has raised serious concerns about Goans using mobile phones while driving and also drunken driving.

The figures compiled by the police department are really frightening. Compared to 4300 accidents in 12 months last year, Goa has recorded over 1300 accidents in the last three months.

Similar is the case of fatal accidents and persons killed. We have crossed 100 such killer accidents and the persons killed in the last three months. 2017
