The festival of chovoth is approaching very fast, and the state is gearing up for the festivities. The markets are getting ready with all decoration stuff and Ganpati idols way in advance.

However the traditional clay idol makers are still concerned with illegal sale of idols made up of Plaster of Paris in the state.

The traditional clay idol makers under the banner of their organization have already submitted a representation to the Governor and Government in this regard to keep a strict vigil over the illegal sale and transport from neighboring states of PoP idols in Goa.

Every year these traditional idol makers get grants from the government and Handicrafts Corporation. But they do not get it on time.

Thus they have demanded that these grants should be released in advance.
