FDA destroys unhealthy, unhygienic stock of Diwali Sweets

Food and Drugs Administration closed down two sweet manufacturing units and destroyed Sweets and Farsan worth 3.5lakhs rupees at Pilerne in Bardez on Monday.



 Officials inspected two Farsan and Sweet Manufacturing units M/s Amrut Vaushnav and M/s Balu Singh at Pilerne, Bardez.

They were found to be operating without FSSAI License under unhygienic conditions.

A total stock of Sweets and Farsan worth 3.5 lakh rupees were manufactured under unhygienic conditions and immediately destroyed in the interest of public health and the units were shut down.

The FDA team was led by designated officer of North Goa, Richard Noronha and Senior Food Safety Officer Rajiv Korde along with Food Safety Officer Sneha Sawant.
