FDA conducts raids in Mapusa, seizes illegally sold tobacco items

The Food and Drug Administration conducted raids in Mapusa Market and seized food items worth 20 thousand rupees.



The FDA also exposed how tobacco items are sold in Goa despite ban on its sale in the state. The authorities have also seized more than 8 kg of Tobacco.

In its follow up drive in the Mapusa market the FDA on Friday caught various food item vendors who were selling food items without proper labels with manufacturing dates mentioned.

The safety officer came down heavily on illegalities and seized food items and tobacco as well as Guthka which are banned in Goa.

A video had gone viral few days back in which the vegetable vendor was seen carrying vegetable washed in drainage water.

Similar condition was observed by the FDA officials during their raid.
